Deep in corn country, in the middle of the Midwest, with balmy 80+ degree days and 60 degree cool evenings, the North Texas Re-gion members joined over 800 other people from 39 states and 4 foreign countries to observe and enjoy over 272 Cadillacs and La-Salles. There in Dublin, Ohio, just a skip and a hop from Columbus, at the Marriot – Columbus Northwest, Caddy and Salle lovers took it all in at the Cadillac & LaSalle Grand Nationals, 2011. There were cars from most periods, with an abundance of 1941 mod-els – seems everyone owns one, and Eldorados galore. The condition of the cars on display was amazing, with so many from the rust belt present for display, and some unusual ones, including station wagons and Mirage sports wagons (looks like a Cadillac version of an El Camino). During the week the cars arrived, and by Friday evening the majority was in the parking lot, sectioned off from the ―outside cars. People were taking in the car show, either walking around being bedazzled by the beautiful cars, basking in the sun in chairs near their cars, or taking car pictures, hoping their batteries didn’t quit.

Inside the upscale hotel there were vendors galore selling lots of Cadillac keepsakes and such. Rubye Musser had the NTXCLC table going with lots of special goodies – she claims to have sold most of them. The Grand National HQ was set up in the lobby and had lots of free take-aways.

During the week there some fabulous tours for people who were visiting the area. This included trips to the United States Air Force’s National Museum in Dayton / Fairborn, Ohio, tours of Columbus, Ohio – the capital city and home of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and a Cars and Sweets tour with lots of antique and special cars, and the Anthony Thomas Candy Factory.

There were also a number of seminars and interesting meetings for those looking for more than just showy cars.

All right, you read this far, and now you are asking, ―What did we win? So here are the winnings for NTXCLC.
